We spoke to Mat Walklate about the band;
1) Music is obviously a passion for you, when did you first get into playing and writing your own music?
I picked up my first harmonica when I was 16 and I started to write my own stuff around 1993
2) You' re involved in teaching music, running workshops, writing and Promoting your Irish music festival, how do you find time to fit it all in ?
It's a bit of a struggle sometimes but I work with a lot of good people and I like to be busy!
3) What came across most from listening to the album is a sheer sense of fun - was it enjoyable to record ?
It was good fun. Andy, Bo and Chris are top men and we had a lot of laughs. The studio was in Ellesmere Port so we had to try and keep our spirits up somehow!
4) The tracks on the album seem totally made to be played live how have the songs been received at your shows ?
They're going down well and changing and evolving with each performance, which I really like.
5) What's next on the agenda for the band ?
We're lined up for some excellent festivals all over Europe and we're looking forward to some good tours in 2006.
