Gwyneth Keen, the charismatic lead singer of popular folk band Celtish, has released her widely anticipated debut solo album, Singularity. This album is an exciting departure that sees Gwyneth stepping out in a new direction, experimenting with a variety of sounds as she discovers a new side to her voice and musical self.
Audiences have been delighted in both Britain and Europe, and many await Gwyneth’s debut solo album. Extensive touring with Celtish, playing in venues as austere as The Royal Albert Hall and the NEC, her work shows a marked difference to that of this contemporary band.

The opening track ‘The Winds that Sing’ startling in its unusual use of two songs entwined together and relying entirely on the voice, is sure to fascinate the listener. From the observational take on life in ‘Humanity Slips’ to the very personal lyrics of the title track, where harp and cello weave around the emotive vocal, this album will draw you in. ‘Marwnad yr Ehedydd’ combines the passion of the Welsh heart with the mellifluous language and crosses the language barriers. ‘Cold Wind’ tells the story of a woman who lived through the horrifying ordeal at the Beslan school and lost her son by saving her daughter.
Gwyneth responded to the question about why she chose to reveal some of her more personal thoughts in her songs:
“We all have a safe place to escape too, mine happens to be music and while I take refuge there, it has to be true to what I believe, otherwise how can I sing with any conviction?”
